There is so much to see and do in Las Vegas that there is no way you can do it all in a simple weekend or even a week long trip there. To make sure that you get the most out of your vacation, you will want to do a little planning ahead of time. That way you can be sure to see and do everything that you want to do, and stick to your vacation budget.

First, you will want to consider how you will get to Las Vegas. Will you need a flight in or do you live close enough to drive? If you have to fly in, will you be staying on the Strip or are you going to need to rent a car to see other sights in the vicinity? Check out online sites and travel agencies to see about package deals. Sometimes you may be able to save money by taking advantage of a hotel and airfare combo or special packages offered by the hotels.

Next, you will want to consider where you will stay while on vacation. Do you want a hotel with the best dining or nightlife? Do you need a fancier room to relax in, or can you go for a budget one since you will not be spending much time there anyways? Also, keep in mind the location of the hotel. Hotels off the Strip will more than likely have more affordable rates however you will need to arrange for transportation to and from the Strip. Also, if you are staying at one end of the Strip and all of the shows that you want to see are at the other end, keep in mind that you will have a lot of walking or need to pay for a cab to get back and forth.

Before you go, you will want to get an idea of what sights you will want to see in Las Vegas. Talking to other Vegas travelers and checking out travel books and online sites will give you an idea of things that you will want to see for yourself in person.

Everyone needs to eat. When in Las Vegas, there are plenty of options ; from the casino buffet up to the most elegant of restaurants. Plan ahead for the nicer restaurants, as having a reservation will make your evening go more smoothly. Also, keep in mind that many will have a dress code, so you will want to take that into consideration when you are packing for your trip. If you are traveling with kids, you will also want to look into restaurants that offer kid friendly meals and pricing ahead of time.

Las Vegas offers some of the best shows and entertainers that you will ever see. If there is someone that you absolutely cannot go home without seeing, make sure to make your reservations ahead of time. Your hotel will be able to get you information on show times and prices, or you can look up show schedules and ticket information online before you leave.

Besides the shows in Las Vegas, there are plenty of other free attractions that you may want to take in. Do some planning now so that you can arrange your schedule to get everything worked in. Plus, keep in mind that a lot of the free shows have multiple show times, so if you get held up at dinner leave some extra room in your schedule to catch the next showing.

If you are the kind of person who does not want to sleep on your vacation, Las Vegas has the nightlife for you. There are a variety of clubs, bars, and lounges to suit all tastes. Planning your night in advance can come in handy so that you are able to do and see everything you want to.
