In a town as full of excess and splendor as Las Vegas, it is hard to imagine anything for free. However at the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino there are plenty of free things for you and the kids to do, making it a great choice for a family destination in Las Vegas. Every child and child at heart can enjoy the magic of the circus there. You can enjoy almost every aspect of the big top short of the animal acts. The first bonus of staying at Circus Circus is that children under 16 can stay in the room for free with a paying adult. There is a maximum of four guests per room. The rooms are quite loud and definitely designed to look like they came straight out of the big top, but have been maintained very well given the age of the casino. One of the main attractions at Circus Circus is the AdventureDome. This is the only indoor theme park in Las Vegas, and offers games and rides to please adventurers of all levels. Rides range from basic ones for the youngest participant to a roller coaster for hardier thrill seekers. There is a fee to ride the rides (you can pay individually or buy an all day pass) and to play the games, but you can walk around and take in the sights for free. Another great free option is the clown shows that take place daily. The shows are perfect for carnival goers of all ages, and are performed on the main stage. Sunday through Thursday shows are at noon, 1:00, 3:00 and 4:00 PM, and Fridays and Saturdays there are also evening shows at 6:00, 7:00, 8:00 and 9:00 PM. For those inside the casino at Circus Circus, they can also enjoy the permanent circus that resides there. The circus is the largest permanent one in the world, and highlights the center stage of the carnival midway. The circus acts are world renowned, and are shown every half hour from 11 AM until midnight daily. Each show lasts about 10 minutes, but the seats start filling up ahead of time. If you do not get a seat, do not worry ; there is plenty of standing room available or you can just wait for the next show. The acts are rotated around as well, so you can watch several shows and never get an exact duplicate experience. The casino is proud of its family oriented atmosphere, beginning with the giant clown at the front entrance and the circus themed rooms. The hotel offers all the sights and colors that you would expect to see at your traditional circus. Kids will also enjoy the wandering entertainers who create a lively ambience with juggling, magic, and balloon animals. Even though the rest of the casino and hotel is not free, many parents do find that the room rates are quite reasonable for families. It is not recommended that you stay at Circus Circus unless you have kids (or really enjoy them) however, as the amount of kids constantly running around at all hours can be a little overwhelming. Parents are encouraged to keep a close eye on their children at all times, since it is easy for them to become lost in the hustle and bustle of the casino and theme park. If you are not a fan of staying at the circus and wish to stay elsewhere, that is an option. But if you do want to take in the sights and sounds, it is definitely worth the walk to come down and see it ; especially the free shows highlighted daily.
