Why does the world love Las Vegas? There are a number of reasons for the broad appeal of Sin City to the world, and some of them may be quite a surprise to you! 1. First and foremost, Las Vegas is the quintessential first world playground that flaunts all the riches that the United States has to offer. Excess is expected, well trained staff are consistently looking to meet your every need and want, and nowhere else in the world are you able to indulge in any number of vices and be rewarded for it! Slot clubs will give you bigger and better incentives the longer your gamble and the more money you wager and lose. From an international perspective, Sin City is the one location where anyone can go and reinvent themselves ; even if it is only for a weekend ; and do whatever they please, with little or no regard for the consequences. Once they are back on a plane home, whatever they did in Vegas is very likely to also stay there. 2. On the other side of the coin are those who seek to reach out to those caught up in the vices of fast living that is so prevalent in Sin City. Drug use is rampant, prostitution is on the rise, homelessness is a daily reality, and many Christian missionaries see Las Vegas as the one spot in the world that needs more attention than others. Gambling addictions have left many destitute, torn apart families, and in its wake are individuals who are in desperate need for a second chance. Christian missionaries work hard to provide hope to these individuals, and in a way Las Vegas has become a proving ground for those who are serious about spreading the gospel in a difficult spot. 3. Fashion designers and wannabes have long since honed in on Las Vegas and its need for more opulence. While the catwalk is not usually associated with Sin City, Vegas is associated with people who have money to spend indiscriminately, and where else will you be able to have your wares displayed to 7,000 visitors per day, each day of the year? The same may be said for jewelry designers and those who specialize in niche accessories, such as belts and bags. 4. Reality television shows find Las Vegas irresistible. Maybe it is the fact that strange things will happen when you force a number of individuals to interact with one another as well put them in the Petri dish that is Sin City. On the other hand, perhaps it is the fact that media exposure of Vegas is high, and a reality show set there is almost guaranteed superior ratings. 5. Last but not least is the draw to performers, entertainers, acrobats, and comedians for whom Las Vegas is the entertainment Mecca. Seeing their names in the harsh neon lights is a goal for many a garage band that is still practicing in mom and dads basement. Of course, professional dancer, too, are looking for the big break in Vegas, and considering that the shows are always hiring new faces, new bodies, and do not turn away anyone who truly has some talent and discipline, these performers flock to the neon lights as well. Perhaps more sobering are the former superstars whose stars have since waned a bit, and who are no longer able to demand the big venues they used to so easily get. Las Vegas may be the final pit stop before professional oblivion, and it is therefore not surprising to see them flocking to the harsh neon lights in a last ditch effort to either resurrect or resuscitate a failing career.
